19.11.09 | Susi Kentikian ist „Weltmeisterin des Jahres 2009“
Die World Boxing Association hat bei ihrer 88. Convention in Kolumbien Susi Kentikian als „Weltmeisterin des Jahres“ ausgezeichnet.

Für ihre elf erfolgreichen Titelverteidigungen in zweieinhalb Jahren wurde die „Killer Queen“ zum „Female Champion of the year“ gekürt. Außerdem wurde ihr von WBA-Vizepräsident Gilberto Mendoza der neu aufgelegte WBA-Supergürtel überreicht, der künftig ihren Namen tragen wird.

Mendoza: „Zukünftige Championessen, die das gleiche wie Susi erreichen, erhalten dann den Susi-Kentikian-Gürtel.“

Kentikian: „Ich freue mich sehr, das ist eine große Ehre für mich. Da hat sich die weite Reise nach Kolumbien für mich ja sehr gelohnt. Vielen Dank an die WBA.“
