Karahunj (also Zorats qarer) is a bronze age cemetry site around which there are series of standing stones. It dates back to the second millennium B.C. Some of the precisingly arranged huge stones have holes bored into them, which were used for astrological observations. The scientific expeditions proved Karahunj to be the oldest observatory in the world.

Karahunj is often compared with the Scotish Stonehenge (kar in aremenian means stone). Only the Armenian version is older and cruder.

Караунч (также Зорац Карер) - участок кладбища Бронзового Века, вокруг которого расположены ряды стоящих камней. Он относится ко времени второго тысячелетия до н.э. Некоторые из с точностью расположенных гигантских камней наделаны сквозными отверстиями, которые использовались для астрологических наблюдений. Научные экспедиции доказали, что Караунч - самая старая обсерватория мира.

Караунч - часто сравнивается с Шотландским Стонхенч [Stonehenge] ("кар" на Армянском означает - "камень", как и "стон" на Английском). Только Армянская версия старше и сделано немножко грубее.
