WATERTOWN, Mass.—The Armenian Museum of America recently announced a new exhibition, “Passages,” featuring the art of Sirarpi Heghinian Walzer, on view from Jan. 25 through March 8, 2015.

‘Pentimento,’ by Sirarpi Heghinian Walzer

Sirarpi Heghinian Walzer’s artwork is in many collections nationally and internationally. She has received awards and exhibited her work in galleries throughout Europe and the United States. She lives and works in Lexington, Mass., and serves on the boards of the Cambridge Art Association and NonProfit Net. She is the principal of Consult and Design, a small business IT consulting and web design firm, and is the co-founder and director of Art Without Borders, an online community that champions the rights of artists. She also founded the Artists’ Cooking Collaborative, which caters events with artistically inspired and locally produced food.

Heghinian Walzer studied biomedical systems engineering at Boston University, and painting and stage design at the Academy for Fine Arts “Die Etage” in Berlin, Germany. In Europe, Heghinian Walzer has worked with artists Andrej Woron, Milan Kn???k, and Peter Erskine; and in the United States, with Timothy Harney and Ati Gropius, among others. As a biomedical engineer at Biotroniks in Berlin, Germany, her team designed pacemakers, and at Honeywell in Lexington, she worked on mammogram and infrared imaging systems.

The opening reception of “Passages” takes place on Sun., Jan. 25, from 2-5 p.m. at the Armenian Museum, in the Adele and Haig Der Manuelian Galleries on the third floor. Sirarpi Heghinian Walzer will be present at the reception. Light refreshments will be served. The event is free and open to the public; donations are accepted.
