В Греции убитый полицией юноша имел армянские корни
Убитый в Греции полицией юноша - Александрос Андреас Григоропулос имеет армянские корни. Об этом радиостанции «Свобода» сообщил Чрезвычайный и Полномочный посол Армении в Греции Ваграм Кажоян. «Его мать, Джина Чаликян - известный ювелир и благотворитель, всегда участвовала в благотворительных акциях в пользу Армении», - сообщил посол. Смерть юноши от пули полицейского повлекла массовые беспорядки в столице Греции. В ходе беспорядков нанесен ущерб многочисленным магазинам, государственным и частным машинам. Накануне в арену настоящего боя превратилась площадь перед зданием греческого парламента. Полицейские применили слезоточивый газ против митингующих, которые доставили на площадь огромные мусорные баки и подожгли их. Как передает Reuters, 11 декабря греческие студенты забросали камнями и «коктейлями Молотова» полицейские участки в Афинах, в результате чего пострадал один прохожий. «Пожилой человек был доставлен в больницу после того, как в него попали камнем», — сообщил источник в полиции. Он также добавил, что в течение часа были атакованы около 10 полицейских участков, Кроме того, демонстранты, планируют перекрыть ряд афинских магистралей. Уже прекращено движение по двум оживленным шоссе на юге города. |

Protesters are promising to remain on the streets of Greece, one week after the police killing of 15-year-old Alexandros Grigoropoulos sparked massive riots. The protests are driven in part by the widening gap between rich and poor in a country where the minimum monthly wage is Euro 658 ($850), graduates have poor job prospects and the government is making painful reforms to the pension system. |
