Но злой насмешкой будет твой ответ.

Достойней прозвучали бы слова:
"Вы посмотрите на моих детей.
Моя былая свежесть в них жива,
В них оправданье старости моей".

Пускай с годами стынущая кровь
В наследнике твоем пылает вновь!

How much more praise deserved thy beauty's use,

Proving his beauty by succession thine!

This were to be new made when thou art old,
And see thy blood warm when thou feel'st it cold.
