Post Prelate of Aleppo Visits North America

WATERTOWN, Mass. (A.W.)—His Eminence Archbishop Shahan Sarkissian, Prelate of Aleppo, has been meeting with members of the Armenian communities across the U.S., to brief on the Syrian crisis and the Syrian Armenian community, and to raise funds for relief efforts. Archbishop Sarkissian arrived in California on Oct. 13, and has now made his way to the East coast.

On Oct. 22, the Archbishop, accompanied by His Eminence Archbishop Oshagan Choloyan, Prelate of the Eastern U.S., visited the Hairenik building and granted an interview to the Armenian Weekly, which will be published in an upcoming issue. That same day, he gave a public briefing at the St. Stephen’s Church in Watertown, organized by the ARS Leola Sassouni and Shushi chapters.

Archbishop Sarkissian’s visit includes meetings and community events in Watertown, Providence, R.I., Philadelphia, Pa., Douglaston, N.Y., Ridgefield, N.J., and New York City.
