Janet Shamlian is of Armenian origin born in Illinois, USA.

She is a national correspondent for NBC News and appears on the NBC Nightly News and The Today Show and . Janet used to work at KHOU-TV, KPRC-TV and WBBM-TV in Chicago and both in Houston. She also worked at WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
