Post ARS Eastern US Sponsors World Premiere of Maronians Women of 1915

Award-Winning Documentary Filmmakers Orphans of the Genocide Selected by Switzerlands Indie Film Festival 2016

WATERTOWN, Mass. The world premiere of Women of 1915, a documentary film by award-winning filmmaker Bared Maronian, is scheduled at the Bergen Community College Ciccone Theater, on Saturday, June 4, at 7:30 p.m., announced the Armenian Relief Society (ARS) of Eastern U.S.A.

The world premiere of ‘Women of 1915,’ a documentary film by award-winning filmmaker Bared Maronian, will take place on June 4.

Ms. Nora Armani will be Mistress of Ceremonies. A limited number of seats to the world premiere of Women of 1915 are available and may be purchased through www.Eventbrite.com.

Im honored that the ARS of Eastern USA is generously sponsoring the world premiere of my documentary Women of 1915, and grateful to its members and supporters who have to date raised over $100,000 for the films production, said Maronian. This is a timely release on the 101st anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, to honor and celebrate the contributions of the Armenian women while recognizing the humanitarian assistance provided by American and European women. I hope these stories of struggle, anguish and triumph will offer a beacon of hope to inspire those women who are caught in modern-day, war-torn countries struggling through similar atrocities.

Four-time regional Emmy award winning filmmaker Maronians Women of 1915 is the first documentary to unveil the role of the Armenian women of the era who lived through the horrors of the Armenian Genocide. The documentary highlights the integral role the Armenian women played in their respective communities and the heroic, humanitarian women advocates who came to their aid from around the world, and some who even died at war-ravaged Ottoman Empire to empower the Armenian women as pillars of war-torn, post-Genocide societies.

Maronians Women of 1915 follows his highly acclaimed documentary, Orphans of the Genocide, on the plight of the Armenian Genocide orphans, selected by the Hong Kong World International Film Festival, and nationally distributed by the National Educational Telecommunications Association to over 250 TV stations across the U.S. Since its release, Orphans of the Genocide has been awarded a Telly Award, nominated to the 2014 Regional Emmy Award in Historical Documentary category, was part of the NYC Filmmakers Festival, nominated as Best Documentary at the 2013 ARPA Film Festival, featured at New Yorks Unspoken Human Rights Film Festival, and received the Audience Choice Award at the 2013 Pomegranate Film Festival in Toronto, Canada.

As the founder of the Armenoid Team, Bared Maronian specializes in producing thematically Armenian documentaries, and has produced three such films. Maronian is a graduate of Haigazian University with a major in Political Science, and has attended Palm Beach State College of Florida and the Broadcast Career Institute of Palm Beach, Florida.
