Armenian Development Agency along with Dutch Ecorys & Cyprus Management Mix company jointly organized the first conference on Foreign Direct Investments in Armenia.
The conference is being financed Dutch Grant second World Bank foreign investment and export facilitation project. The sponsors of the conference are ACBA Credit Agricol bank, Yerevan Brandy Factory & Renco company.
The foreign investors, investors who are thinking to start a business activity in Armenia, Armenian businessmen, state officials responsible for economic policy will be participating at the Conference. The Conference will give an opportunity to the investors to speak about obstacles and challenges they face and find solutions along with the government representatives.
Ministers, Managers of leading companies, representatives of international organization delivered their speeches.
The foreign direct investments in Armenia in 2009 made 732,1 mln USD, whereas the investments in 2008 made 1,1 bln USD.
Russia is the leading investment partner of Armenia. In 2009 Russian investments made 384,8mln USD-energy, gas, telecommunication and air transportation sectors. During the last 2 years, Armenia’s second investment partner became France-thanks to the Orange Armenia -197,4 mln USD. The third investment partner of Armenia is Argentina in air transportation, agricultural and communication sectors-48,2 mln USD.
